McGill, Western and Toronto finished tied atop the standings with (4-2) records. Toronto ripped off four straight wins before their last two contests. It was deemed too late in the year to conduct postseason playoffs.

But Bill Manness hit a free throw for the Mustangs, missed the second but Krol got the rebound and banked it in to knot the score at 40. Toronto rushed a shot. Clem Faust hit a bucket to give Western the lead with eight seconds to play. Scrubby Aitchison was fouled for Toronto at the buzzer. The crowd swarmed the court. Shooting with uncanny ability they led the Toronto team throughout most of the game to emerge as winners and force a three-coned tie. The CIAU ruled that no playoffs be held and for the first time since the formation of the league the championship is shared by three universities.” Neville Wykes led McGill with 13.
