McGill went undefeated. The Redmen were led by Don Young, a great playmaker who joined the team at Christmas. The front line featured captain Don Smaill and forward George Faulkner and the squad was renowned for its defensive prowess. Toronto was “handicapped by sickness and accidents. Earl Davey was kept out of the line-up by a football injury, while William McCallum, a valuable guard, tore a ligament in his ankle after the second league game. During the latter part of the season, influenza took a heavy toll, Captain Benny Walker being unable to appear in the last two games,” the Varsity says.
