In the semis, Alberta defeated Lethbridge 54-41 as Susan Tokariuk scored 24, Toni Kordic 10, Laura Cabott 8, Shelaine Kozakavich 7 and Debbie O’Byrne 5, while Lorna Lentz, Jo-Ann Schroeder, Trish Campbell and Chris Parker were scoreless. Ingeborg Pot led Lethbridge with 8. Sharon May added 7, Dori Rodinyak 6, Angela Hlavka 6, Carol Ens 5, Mare McConnell 5 and Sharon Hamilton 4, while Linda Smith, Deb Biccum and Melissa Kotkas were scoreless.
In the other semi, Calgary defeated Victoria 56-48 as Debbie Patterson scored 14, Jane Adolphe 14, Julie Hendrix 8, Karla Karch 8, Brenda Abbott 6, Carol Ploen 4 and Lynn Whan 2, while Julie Dais, Elise Adolphe and Diane Bailey were scoreless. Dinosaurs coach Donna Roman-Rudakas told the Calgary Herald that “I’ve been here for five years and during my coaching career, we’ve never beaten Victoria in their own gym. I felt this would be the toughest game because they had the edge. They beat us two weeks ago and they had homecourt advantage.” Susie Neil led the Vikettes with 20. Sandy Espeseth added 16, Janine Prince 6, Sandy Pothier 2, Kim Pland 2 and Debbie Richter 2, while Sharon McDonald, Jane Williams, Robin Fitzgerald, Celeste Bazinet and Irene Sladecek were scoreless.
In the bronze medal match, Victoria defeated Lethbridge 71-63 as Janine Prince scored 20, Susie Neil 14, Sandy Espeseth 10, Sandy Pothier 7, Kim Poland 6, Debbie Richeter 6, Jane Williams 6 and Robin Fitzgerald 2, while Sharon McDonald, Celeste Bazinet and Irena Sladecek were scoreless. Dori Rodzinyak paced the Pronghorns with 17. Carol Ens added 17, Ingeborg Pot 12, Mare McConnell 8, Linda Smith 6 and Sharon Hamilton 3, while Debbie Biccum, Melissa Kotkas and Sharon May were scoreless. The Pronghorns (coached by Louisa Zerbe) also included Angela Hlavka and Audrey Bullock.
In the final, Calgary edged Alberta 66-63 as Jane Adolphe scored 20, Karla Karch 18, Julie Hendrix 13, Debbie Patterson 6, Brenda Abbott 5 and Lynn Whan 4, while Julie Dias, Jolayne Anderson, Carol Ploen and Diane Bailey were scoreless. Toni Kordic paced the Pandas with 19. Susan Tokariuk added 14, Laura Cabott 14, Trish Campbell 8 and Shelaine Kozakavich 8, while Lorna lenz, Debbie O’Byrne, Jo-Ann Schroeder and Chris Parker were scoreless.
