Alberta wins a round-robin tourney held in Vancouver. Alberta and Saskatchewan both finished (2-1) but Alberta was awarded the title on points differential in a ruling by WCIAU women’s director Barbara Schrodt. Saskatchewan protests because it beat Alberta and a re-check of the constitution indicated that “where two or more teams are tied for first place, the teams tied shall be declared co-winners and shall share the trophy.” A year later, Saskatchewan wins on point spread and in hindsight, concedes that the 1962 title belonged to Alberta.
