      In their opener, Canada fell 19-17 to 18th-seeded Lithuania. Canada was undone by poor shot selection, mediocre perimeter shooting, foul trouble and lackadaisical rebounding against the smaller Lithuanians. Canada trailed 6-3 early but rallied to repeatedly knot the score before Kamile Nacickaite-van der Horst hit a pair of free throws with 1.8 seconds on the clock to pull out the win for Lithuania. Nacickaite-van der Horst paced Lithuania with 10 on 2-5 from the floor, 2-4 from the arc, 4-4 from the line and 3 boards. Justina Miknaite added 4 on 4-7 from the floor. Gabriele Sulske notched 3 on 1-3 form the floor, 1-3 from the arc and 4 boards. Giedre Labuckiene scored 2 on 2-3 from the floor, 2 blocks and 9 boards. Lithuania hit 9-18 from the floor, 3-7 from the arc and 4-5 from the line, while garnering 18 boards, including 3 on the offensive glass, 3 blocks, 6 turnovers and 7 fouls.       Canada improved to (1-1) by edging Ukraine 14-11. Canada’s offence was decidedly anemic and Katherine Plouffe continued her shooting slump while eking out the win. A Paige Crozon bomb from the arc gave Canada a 6-2 lead. But Ukraine rallied to knot the score at 9. Kacie Bosch answered with an and-one, Tara Wallack a layup, and Crozon a pair of buckets off a backdoor cut and driving layup as Canada took a 14-9 lead and held on for the win.       Canada finished (2-2), tied with France and Lithuania in pool D play, but lost out on a playoff position in the tiebreaker, based on records in games between the trio (France 2-0, Lithuania 1-1 and Canada 0-2).
