Manitoba defeated Saskatchewan 32-30 as Doug Cannell hit the winner at the buzzer. Doug Cannell led the Bisons with 13. John Speers added 6, Hank Syzek 5, Walt Ekins 4, Jim Farnell 2, John Banfield 1 and Rhodes Tallin 1. Ted Childs paced the Huskies with 10. Bud Carson added 9, Matheson 4 and Yaremchuk 2.
According to the Manitoban, Alberta defeated Manitoba 43-28. According to Canadian Press and The Gateway, Alberta prevailed 43-25. Reed Payne and Phil Proctor sparked the Bears to an early 15-9 lead. Don Steed scored 10 in the second half to ensure the win. Reed Payne, Don Steed and Del Steed each scored 10 to pace the Bears. Phil Proctor added 8, Nori Nishio 2, Alex Andrekson 2 and Doug Allen 1, while Al Manifold was scoreless. Rueben Cherniak led the Bisons with 7.
