In the other semi, the top-seeded Kitchener-Waterloo Titans defeated the Windsor Express 112-93; 99-109; 112-77; 108-98 (3g-1). The Express (coach Bill Jones, assistant Naz Buhagiar, assistant Yolanda Croxton, assistant John Elliott) included Zavier Turner, Sam Muldrow, Jiovanni Miles, Markus Golder, Antonio Davis, Cameron Gaines, Lydell Elmore and Tray Maddox Jr.
In the finals, the Sudbury Five captured their second consecutive Basketball Super League crown by defeating the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans 104-112; 92-95; 121-106; 100-97; 90-89 (3g-2). Sudbury’s Duane Notice was chosen the championship MVP. “It’s a great feeling being able to go back to back,” said rookie Sudbury coach Joey Puddister. “Even with only four players returning from last season, the team had a major target on our back and it made it a battle. Really proud of our resilience and our ability to face these challenges over and over and come out on top.”
