The Green & Gold notes that “Alberta at points during all games looked like winners, but couldn’t match in four quarters the pace set by a well-organized Saskatchewan club. For example, in the third game, the Bears were able to hold a narrow margin over the Huskies for all of two quarters. Then the Huskies got up their proverbial fight and it was all over, again, for Alberta. The Bears just missed victory in the final game of the series, too. They let an 8-6 lead in the first quarter slip to a 16-24 deficit at half-time, recovering to a 29-33 count at three-quarter time, and finally losing out 39-41. All of which isn’t good for the ordinary student’s nerves. Incidentally this game turned out to be one of the roughest yet witnessed in intercollegiate competition. No less than 55 …count ‘em… 55 fouls were called, with Saskatchewan, as ever, in the lead, even in penalties, with 28. As has been the handicap for the past few years, the Alberta boys lacked the experience of keen competition prior to the intercollegiate series.”

Jim Scott paced Saskatchewan with 14. Herb Pinder added 6, Bill Winterton 6, Ralph Alexander 5, Bert Smith-Jones 4 and Conrad Fitzgerald 1, while Marshall Sharp, Lloyd Probert, Bill Ebbels, Louis Kendry, George Green and Bus Hillyard were scoreless. Demetrie Elefthery paced Alberta with 10. Sammy Sheckter added 6, Jack Switzer 4, John Larson 3, Bob Dumont 1 and Don Kyle 1, while Foy Anderson, Doug Taylor, Ed Patching and Albert Golden were scoreless. …………………………………………………… In game two, Saskatchewan prevailed 27-15.

Alberta led 21-17 at the half but the Huskies took the lead early in the tight second half and held on for the win. …………………………………………………… In game two, Saskatchewan prevailed 41-39 as Lloyd Probert hit the winner with under a minute to play. Herb Pinder added 6, Bert Smith-Jones 4, Conrad Fitzgerald 4, Bill Winterton 4, Ralph Alexander 3, Lloyd Probert 3, Louis Kendry 4, Bill Ebbels 2, Bus Hillyard 2, while George Green was scoreless. Sammy Sheckter scored 13 to pace Alberta. Demetrie Elefthery added 10, Jack Switzer 4, John Larson 4, Foy Anderson 2, Doug Taylor 2, Bob Dumont 2 and Ed Patching 2, while Don Kyle and Albert Golden were scoreless.
