REGULAR SEASON

Saskatchewan  1-0   Ken King
  Manitoba  1-1   Wray Youmans
  Alberta  0-1   Jimmie Bill

Saskatchewan, led by Ray Frey, Ernest Titus and Ellis MacMillan, defeated Manitoba 35-24. As Manitoba later defeated Alberta 24-19 in their sole contest of the year, it was deemed unnecessary for Saskatchewan to play Alberta because they’d already lost to Manitoba. In theory, Alberta could have waxed Saskatchewan and won the entire league on point differential. But Saskatchewan was dutifully declared the Rigby Cup champion. A beats B which beat C. Therefore, A is champ. …………………………………………………… Manitoba defeated Alberta 24-19. Alberta led by four at the half. Matt Tennant paced Manitoba with 9. Solly Thorwaldson added 6, Ernie Ford 4, Nick Elvin 2, Cyril Brooks 2 and Andy Turnbull 1, while Brownell, Ed Cooper and Mike Thorvaldson were scoreless. Keith Muir paced Alberta with 7. F.O. Galbraith added 4, MacLaren 3, Clarence Husband 2 and Herb O’Brien 1, while Bob Brynildsen and C. Greenless were scoreless.
