In the postseason final, the Universite St. Boniface Les Rouges captured their first MCAC crown by stunning the Canadian Mennonite Blazers 79-64 after leading 24-17, 45-33 and 63-47 at the quarters. Championship MVP Tristan Gibbons said “today was super special. Every time we kept playing this team, we kept progressing. This was the first year we changed the culture a lot. We weren’t good, we were at the bottom, but this year we all committed as a team. I love my teammates, I love my coaches, this is a great start. … The key was to be physical, not let them get easy points, and play smart with conviction on offence. We kept playing our game, kept playing physical, kept playing defence. We were never going to lose that game.” Tristan Gibbons paced Les Rouges with 21 on 9-14 from the floor, 1-1 from the arc, 2-2 from the line and 18 boards. Labron Sarmiento added 14 on 4-11 from the floor, 4-10 from the arc, 2-4 from the line, 2 boards and 3 assists. Kian Laurel notched 13 on 4-9 from the floor, 0-2 from the arc, 5-5 from the line and 3 steals. Tristan Jace Capuno scored 10 on 5-10 from the floor, 0-2 from the arc, 4 boards and 3 assists.
