The score was knotted at 19 after one quarter. The Bold led 41-32 at the half and 61-45 after three quarters. Bold forward and leading scorer Aaron Rhooms said “I tried to find my spots, that’s all it really was. My teammates trust me and they got me the ball. … After all the years…the coaching staff and the players that have gone through this program. They built the bricks, we’re just standing on what was made.” Bold coach David DeAveiro said “that’s what makes him (Rhooms) special. He’s not afraid of the moment. … I don’t know how many opportunities you get to play for a Wilson Cup. But from the beginning, I said this group had a chance to do it because they came to work every day and because of their bond. … We have a deep team. We had some major contributions coming from our bench.” The Bold’s Kevin Toth said “My last performance…it was unacceptable and I knew my team needed me to step up. I came in here with the mindset of letting the game come to me and do whatever it takes to win.” DeAveiro said “we thought he (Toth) would have a bounce-back game. He came through, delivered and made this his best game.” Brock coach Willy Manigat said “we didn’t stick to the game plan, and we weren’t aggressive doing what we wanted to do. You can’t win at this stage of the season if you don’t, that’s why you work on those things for consistency in these moments, so it becomes second nature. … Outside of the first three minutes, we were never really in control of that game or what we wanted to do in terms of executing our game plan. So, all the credit to them — they’re a good team. They’re well coached, they were prepared for the fight, and they fought harder than us. Sometimes that’s all it boils down to.” Aaron Rhooms paced the Bold with 27 on 11-18 from the floor, 4-7 from the arc, 1-1 from the line, 9 boards, 2 assists and 3 steals.
