In the quarterfinals, the 4th-seeded Bluefield-1 Bobcats edged the 5th-seeded Summerside Three Oaks-1 Axewomen 44-41. The Axwomen (coach Ted Johnston) included Dru Gillis, Andie Betts, Stephanie Stuart, Alexis Evans, Felicia Stuart, Bella MacKinnon.
In the semis, the 2nd-seeded Charlottetown Colonel Gray-1 Colonels clipped 3rd-seeded Montague Vikings 53-43.
In the other semi, the top-seeded Charlottetown Rural-1 Raiders stomped the 4th-seeded Bluefield-1 Bobcats 113-32.
In the bronze medal match, the 4th-seeded Blufield-1 Bobcats defeated the 3rd-seeded Montague Vikings 50-40. The Bobcats led 10-7 after one quarter and 27-25 at the half. The score was knotted at 34 after three quarters on a late trey by Bobcat Abby Mahoney. Sophie Leclair notched a bucket to give the Bobcats a 43-39 lead with 2:50 to play. Leclair essentially iced the win by scoring another bucket and two free throws to extend the margin to 47-39 with 1:16 to play. Evelyn Guignon was chosen player of the game for the Bobcats, while Katelyn Brothers earned the laurels for the Vikings. Sophie Leclair led the Bobcats with 17. Abby Mahoney added 9, Evelyn Guignion 8, along with 14 boards, Kayla Storey 8 and Kate Flick 6. Sophie Campbell led the Vikings with 17. Katelyn Brothers added 7 and Johnson 6 and Bianca Batten 4, along with 11 boards.
In the final, the top-seeded Charlottetown Rural-1 Raiders captured their ninth consecutive title by dusting the 2nd-seeded Charlottetown Colonel Gray-1 Colonels 68-50. The Colonels broke to a 7-0 lead but the Raiders rallied to a 24-12 lead after one quarter as Harlow Hannams notched a trio from beyond the arc. The Raiders led 36-24 at the half and 56-39 after three quarters as Alex Newson took command of the defensive boards. Zoe Olscamp was chosen player of the game for the Raiders, while Naomi Ikpotokin earned the laurels for the Colonels. Harlow Hannams and tournament MVP Alex Newson each scored 16 to pace the Raiders. Zoe Olscamp added 10 and Maiya Chaudhary 9. Naomi Ikpotokin paced the Colonels with 24. Bella Vos added 10 and Lily MacVicar 8. Raiders coach Nicole Davies told Saltwire that “I couldn’t be prouder of these girls,” said Davies. “I watched them get better and better as the season went on, and to see them bring the banner back to Rural for a ninth straight time is amazing.” Olscamp said “it was my final chance to win another banner and the fact that we were able to do it in my final game is a dream come true. Being named player of the game was nice, but all I wanted was the banner.”
