All divisions of provincial play, and particularly the final four, were disrupted by an ongoing contract dispute between the provincial government and Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF). Extracurricular activities were pulled from schools across the province during the week before HOOPLA, the championships that had been scheduled to be conducted in Moose Jaw. HOOPLA “will be cancelled due to the lack of teacher involvement [whether as coaches, officials or organizers] in the events and the constraints for schools and host sites in planning and preparing for the events,” the STF announced. The Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association subsequently announced that teams which had qualified for HOOPLA were “invited to participate” in a one-day provincial championship, with their opponent based on their seeding.

In the quarterfinals, the top-seeded Wynyard Bears whipped the 9th-seeded Kindersley Kobras 73-39.
The 4th-seeded Regina Monseigneur de Laval Lions defeated the 5th-seeded Regina Christian Grizzlies 51-45.
The 2nd-seeded Lanigan Central Lazers crushed the 10th-seeded Unity Warriors 84-35.
In the last quarterfinal, the 3rd-seeded Indian Head Broncos stomped the 6th-seeded Watrous Wildcats.
No HOOPLA semi-finals were held.
In the invitational bronze medal match, the 4th-seeded Regina Monseigneur de Laval Lions edged the 3rd-seeded Indian Head Broncs 58-50. Sofia Ouellet paced the Lions with 15. Kira Diabagate-Dureault added 14, Eve Oullet 10, Chloe Uwetika 9, Kenza Diabagate-Dureault 4, Alexandra Dent 2, Karysa Pinsonneault 2 and Vienna Selland 2. Kali Goforth scored 10 to pace the Broncs (coach Dave Clark, manager Abigail Williamson). Grace Clark added 9, Irelyn Thom 8, Trisha Sibayan 5, Danya Dickson 5, Karla Hiller 5, Chloe Clark 4, Abby Klein 2 and Jayna Blayone 2, while Jovi Warnez, Miya Webster, Ella Ferner, Alexis Wiebe and Loralie Torgerson were scoreless.
In the invitational final, the 2nd-seeded Lanigan Central Lazers nipped the top-seeded Wynyard Bears 68-67. Kya Wildeman paced the Lazers with 34. Reese Wildeman added 12, Reese Stroeder 12, Chloe Melin 6, Raea Wildeman 2 and Montana Kulchyski 2. Blaire Otsig paced the Bears with 20. Olivia Finnson added 12, Taylor Chepil 10, Addyson Boylak 9, Samantha Boylak 5, Emma Gudmundson 4, Olivia Gillespie 4, Laina Salter 2 and Hannah Ukrainetz 1.
