In the Maritime finals, Carleton County VS defeated Glace Bay, NS 33-29 and 41-19 as Reardon scored 18 in game one and Andy Tommy 18 in game two.
In the Eastern Canadian quarterfinals, Sherbrooke defeated Carleton County VS 33-36; 47-42 (Total: 80-78). Then went to Sherbrooke where they won game one 36-33 as Andy Tommy scored 13. In second game, Tommy scored 15 but Carleton County lost 47-42 and fell just short of dominion title.
In the other Eastern semi, Sherbrooke High defeated Woodstock Carleton County Vocational School defeated 33-36; 47-42 (Total: 80-78).
In the Eastern finals, the first truly Eastern interprovincial championship to be held, Pickering defeated Sherbrooke 39-25; 36-26 (Total: 75-51).
In game one, Pickering exploded in the second half to whip Sherbrooke. Pickering had led 12-11 at the half and A. Horsfall hit four buckets as Sherbrooke regained the lead in the second half. But after R. Dunsmore fouled out, Sherbrooke became disorganized and Pickering rallied to knot the score at 20. Pickering hit 7-15 from the line, while Sherbrooke was 3-7. Em Faulds led Pickering with 9. Mickey McAllister added 8, Charlie Price 6, Ed Minchinton 6, Roy McGilvray 5, Barney Stronach 4, John Clark 1 and Frank Babb 0. A. Horsfall led Sherbrooke with 9. K. Ross added 7, E. Hall 4, R. Dunsmore 4, K. Harper 1, W. Hammond 0, H. Terry 0 and P. McKenna 0.
In game two, Sherbrooke took a 15-14 lead at the half as R. Dunsmore dominated the floor. Mickey McAllister, though, was stellar defensively, holding Sherbrooke star A. Horsfall to four points on the night. Pickering took command in the second half as McAllister scored 12 in the frame. Pickering hit 10-12 from the line, while Sherbrooke was 4-16.
