In many respects, the first Eastern interscholastic tournament because the Maritime champ was invited. The tourney was held in Montreal, with representatives from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, Ottawa Valley, Quebec and Montreal. Each region held playoffs to determine representatives to the Eastern interscholastic tournament.
In the Maritime finals, Saint John High clipped Halifax County Academy 28-12.
In the Quebec finals, Montreal High School defeated Sherbrooke High 38-24 as Gilmour scored 11, Felvus 8, Williams 2, Dever 1, Ross 0, Parker 0, Allen 2, Harrison 0, Smart 14 and Osterman 0. Turner paced Sherbrooke with 16. Cross added 7, Welsh 2, Costley 0, H. Mariasine 0, M. Mariasine 0 and Barlow 0.
In the semis, Ontario champion Windsor-Walkerville Collegiate whipped St. John High 38-12 as Ian Allison scored 10, Ray Beaton 8, James Stewart 2, Archie Stewart 4, Bill Young 6, Stan Venning 5, Doug Vaughan 2, Albert Carley 0 and Douglas Drake 0. Ferris led St. John with 6. Patterson added 0, Loggie 2, Wry 2, Regan 0, Galbraith 2, Young 0 and Wilson 0.
In other semi, Montreal High clipped Halifax County Academy 36-15 as Felvus scored 12, Gilmour 3, Williams 6, Dever 0, Ross 3, Parker 0, Allan 0, Morrison 2, Smart 10 and Osterman 0. Robertson led Halifax (which had won the Nova Scotia title every year since 1922) with 7. Richardson added 2, Fisher 4, Lindsay 2, Wallace 0, Hart 0, Foote 0 and Thompson 0. County Academy had captured the Nova Scotia crown every year since 1922.
In the final, Windsor-Walkerville Collegiate defeated Montreal High 59-16 as J Stewart scored 21, Allison 14, A Stewart 12, Beaton 10 and Young 2, while Venning, Carling, Drake and Vaughan were scoreless. Felvous paced Montreal with 6. Smart added 6, Gilmour 2 and Allan 2, while Dever, Williams, Ross, Parker, Morrison and Osterman were scoreless.
