In game one, Carlton took an early 6-2 lead and held on for an 8-5 lead after one quarter. Montreal knotted the score at 15 on a series of buckets by Mary Ramsden and Phillis Willett. Letty Smart hit five buckets for Toronto in the third quarter as Carlton inched ahead and held off a game Montreal rally down the stretch.
