In the provincial semis, held in Lake Lenore, the top-seeded Lake Lenore/Middle Lake Lancers (joint program) whipped the 3rd-seeded Stoughton Bulldogs 62-34 as Akeisha King scored 19, Cara Cobrohoczki 14, Claire Moorman 10, Makayla Hauser 7, Breanna Brockman 6, Olivia Gerwing 4 and Hanna Irlbeck 2, while Shayla Lung, Sydney Kolbeck, Heather Mertz, Grace Irlbeck, Ava Politeski and Kaiden Tardif were scoreless. Yvejan Orpiano paced the Bulldogs with 15. Nikita Nahbexie added 14, Jessica Baumgartner 3 and Shelby Vogel 2, while Zoe Nahbexie and Maia Wilson were scoreless.

In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded Gladmar Falcons crushed the 4th-seeded Perdue Steelers 72-26 as Kate Axten scored 23, Alyssa Hind 12, Cheyanne Roysum 8, Daylee Storle 8, Jenna DeBruyne 7, Cassidy Keys 6, Jayda Tessier 5 and Emry DeBruyne 3, while Jenna Meyers and Kaily Fradette were scoreless. Kiera Webb added 6, Santana Anderson 5, Kierra Moody 4 and Maria Thiessen 2, while Jerzie Bilawchuk, Jade Montgomery, Morgan Fyson, Cadence Watson, Chloe Bruce, Haven Richards and Alyssa Kielo were scoreless.

In the bronze medal match, the 3rd-seeded Stoughton Bulldogs dispatched the 4th-seeded Perdue Steelers 43-36. The Steelers led 8-2 early but the Bulldogs rallied to a 12-8 lead after one quarter and never again trailed. Bulldogs coach Scott Kirkness told SaskToday.ca that Nikita Nahbexie “was a beast at both ends of the floor in that first quarter. She completely turned that game around for us.” Although Yvejan Orpiano suffered a leg injury and Shelby Vogel appeared to follow suit, “she is just so tough she was able to shake it off and keep making big plays for us. The other factor on my mind was we had two girls sitting on four fouls, and we couldn’t afford to lose either of them. So we had to play fairly conservatively on defense the rest of the way,” Kirkness said. Kirkness added of his six-man squad that “the stamina and discipline these girls have showed is remarkable. The best basketball players in the world rarely play the entire game. It can be difficult to make it through a game without fouling out even with rest. But to play tight defence, with no breaks, and play it clean? That might be part of what makes this group so special.” Yvejan Orpiano paced Stoughton with 21. Nikita added Nahbexie 16, Jessica Baumgartner 2, Maia Wilson 2 and Shelby Vogel 2, while Zoe Nahbexie was scoreless. Santana Anderson paced the Steelers with 12. Kiera Webb added 8, Jade Montgomery 7, Kierra Moody 5, Maria Thiessen 2 and Hilary May 2, while Jerzie Bilawchuk, Morgan Fyson, Cadence Watson, Chloe Bruce, Haven Richards and Alyssa Kielo were scoreless.

In the final, the top-seeded Lake Lenore/Middle Lancers stomped the 2nd-seeded Gladmar Falcons 85-33 as Makayla Hauser scored 22, Akeisha King 17, Cara Dobrohoczki 15, Olivia Gerwing 12, Heather Mertz 6, Breanna Brockman 6, Claire Moorman 5 and Ava Politeski 2, while Hanna Irlbeck, Shayla Lung, Sydney Kolbeck, Grace Irlbeck and Kaiden Tardif were scoreless. Cassidy Keys paced the Falcons with 11. Jenna DeBruyne added 7, Jayda Tessier 4, Kate Axten 4, Alyssa Hind 3, Cheyanne Roysum 2 and Daylee Storle 2, while Jenna Meyers, Kaily Fradette and Emry DeBruyne were scoreless. Lancers coach Curtis Strueby attributed the win to full-court pressure, which wore down the Falcons. “That was our go to, that’s what we’ve been wanting to try to do the whole year and we just got better and better at it as the year went on,” Strueby told SaskToday.ca. “We can roll a lot of girls out there without missing a beat and it really worked. … “We had a real up and down season with COVID. We played a lot in December and then we didn’t play a game in January due to all our tournaments and games being cancelled due to COVID. Come February we got back into a groove, started playing again and just got better and better.”
