In the final, the 6th-seeded Mount St. Vincent Mystics edged the 2nd-seeded St. Thomas Tommies 69-67. The Tommies led 17-7, 33-28 and 55-52 at the quarters. St. Thomas’ Vincent Lyttleton knotted the score at 67 with a trey but Mystic Mo Abukar found Dawson Berze-Butts on a cut for a layup as Mount St. Vincent prevailed. Mystics coach Danny de Palma said “it took us a while to match their intensity but once we did, I thought our seniors really stepped up and our point-guard, Will Spaulding, really carried us with the control. … Just a lot of gratitude; this season had a lot of adversity and for us to take the toughest road to get to the final and stay together I think says a lot about our character.” Tommies coach John Hickey said “we’re proud of our guys, they battled hard and they care so much so it is hard to feel this way. … Mount Saint Vincent played well, they’ve been rolling right now and they worked hard.” Mo Abukar paced the Mystics with 17 on 6-16 from the floor, 0-1 from the arc, 5-6 from the line, 4 boards and 2 assists.
