In the quarterfinals, the 2nd-seeded Acadia Axewomen dispatched the 7th-seeded St. Francis Xavier X-Women 81-73 after leading 18-15, 34-33 and 59-53 at the quarters. They led by as many as 10 in the final frame and coasted to the win. Axewomen guard Elizabeth Beals-Iseyemi said “I think the spark came from moving the ball and locking in on defense. That was something we talked about in the locker room and just locking in on that.” X-Women interim coach Tyrone Watson said “overall, I thought we matched up against them well. In the second half it kind of got away from us on the offensive rebounding, we didn’t box out and they got a lot of easy lay-ups. We couldn’t make certain in-game adjustments on the fly to stop them which was frustrating, so I feel if we could have done that and cleaned up the glass a little bit then the game would have been a lot closer, it would have been a possession or two and we would have had a better chance.” Elizabeth Beals-Iseyemi was chosen player of the game for the Axewomen, while Aliyah Fraser earned the laurels for the X-Women.
