        In the bronze medal match, Manitoba defeated British Columbia 63-56 as John Matheson scored 13, Kevin Clelland 10 and Minich Nowrang 10. Mike McIsaac paced BC with 18.

        In the final, Alberta stomped Saskatchewan 86-71. “The kids on this team love each other and that’s the biggest ingredient to our success,” said Alberta coach Tim Rollingson. “We have great harmony and unity and that makes playing fun.” Alberta led 21-19 early and 37-32 at the half. But they exploded with a 13-2 run to start the second half. Saskatchewan fought back to within 73-65 with four minutes to play but could draw no further. Brian Halsey paced Alberta with 23. Benjy Bullock added 20, Bill Lavergne 11, Ryan Smith 10 and David Boivie 9. Matthew McCullough paced Saskatchewan with 16. Brian Livingston added 12 and Jeff Lundine 11. Tournament MVP Ryan Smith said “they came out for blood and we knew they would. They played tough zone defence and denied the ball to the wings. They also played a lot of pressure defence and that slowed us down.”
