In the round-robin playoffs: …………………………………………………… The Porter Creek Rams dispatched the F.H. Collins Warriors x-x. …………………………………………………… The Vanier Crusaders defeated the F.H. Collins Warriors x-x. …………………………………………………… The round-robin game between Porter Creek and Vanier was determined to be unnecessary as both squads had already qualified for the final.
In the final, the Whitehorse Porter Creek Rams clipped the Whitehorse Vanier 79-69 to end an eight-year title run by the Crusaders. The Rams overcame a double-digit deficit and dominated down the stretch. The Crusaders led 39-33 at the half, by as many as 13 in the third quarter as they hit several bombs from beyond the arc, and by 55-51 after three quarters. The Rams took a 62-61 lead off a layup in traffic by Kiiwaadin Swan. Vanier answered with back-to-back treys by Josh Rumbaoa and Josh Apostel but the Rams kept attacking off the dribble, drawing fouls and draining their free throws, while Cole Rubulak and Broden Cull notched critical insurance buckets. Rams guard Kiiwaadin Swan told the Whitehorse Star that “our coach (Paul MacDonald) always has a plan for us. We just listened to him and it worked out for us. It was cut to the basket, get a wide open layup and if not pass the ball out and shoot the ball. … They gave it their all. But we played out hearts out and we played good D and played good offence, we played our hearts out too. … I can’t even explain how I’m feeling right now.”
