In the semis, the New Glasgow Panthers defeated the Halifax Queen Elizabeth Lions 28-45; 34-14 (Total: 62-59). The Lions (managed by Elsie Stoddard and Ann Connor) included Heather Worsley, Sheila Mason, Jane Fraser, Donna MacRae, Pam Dewis, Cynthia Olthouse, Shannon Nicholas, Myra Perrett and Marilyn French.
In the provincial finals, the New Glasgow Panthers defeated the Bridgetown Regional Trojans 49-48; 19-25 (Total: 49-48).
In the opener, New Glasgow took a 16-12 lead at the half and expanded the final margin to seven as Willena Borden scored 16, Barbara Townsend 8 and Linda MacKie 6. Bridgetown was led by Ruth Jackson’s 14 points. Iona Barteaux added 9.
In game two, Ruth Jackson scored 13, Iona Barteaux 9, Vickie Shaw 2 and Ann Miller 1 as Bridgetown defeated New Glasgow 25-19, one point short of the seven needed to overcome the first game margin. New Glasgow was paced by Willena Borden 7, Linda MacKie 6, Barbara Townsend 5 and Lynn Armstrong 1.
