In the regional semis and provincial quarterfinals held in Harvey, the top-seeded Harvey Lakers clocked the 8th-seeded Boiestown Upper Miramichi Regional Boas 84-51 as Cleghorn scored 26. Joanne Conroy led the Boas with 24. The Boas also included Crystal Calhoun, Sandra Blainey, Tammy MacKay, Sheryl Beck, Stacey Astle.

       The 5th-seeded Minto Memorial Tigers defeated the 4th-seeded Hartland Huskies 54-49 as Drisdelle scored 28. Lisa LePage led the Huskies with 20. The Huskies also included Sandra Crabbe, Tina Hatfield, Deidra Crabbe.

       In the regional final and provincial semi, the top-seeded Harvey Lakers clubbed the 5th-seeded Minto Memorial Tigers 78-58 as Kelly scored 25, Bird 23, Cleghorn 12, Phillips 6, VanWoudenberg 6, Grieves 3, Swan 2 and Chessie 1. Stack led the Tigers with 27. Thurrott added 18,Gaddis 6, Ryan 4, Richardson 2 and Drisdelle 1.

       In the regional semis and provincial quarterfinals held in Canterbury, the 2nd-seeded Canterbury Celtis defeated the 7th-seeded Stanley Blue Devils x-x. The Blue Devils included Jennifer Hurley, Sonya O’Hara, Ellen-Ann Hay, Stephanie O’Sullivan, Tanya Bourque.

       In the other semi and last quarterfinal, the 3rd-seeded Petitcodiac Regional Panthers defeated the 6th-seeded Campobello Island Consolidated Vikings x-x. The Vikings included Kim Savage, Gail Firlotte, Bonnie Barker, Maureen Newman, Ruth Matthews, Cassie Fletcher, Jeannie Gatchell.

       In the regional final and provincial semis, the 2nd-seeded Canterbury Celtics spanked the 3rd-seeded Petitcodiac Regional Panthers 83-38 as Heppell scored 29, Graham 15, Hatheway 13, Grant 7, Chase 6, Barry 5, Hickey 4, Horseman 2 and Foster 2. Sunberg led the Panthers with 15. Harmer added 7, Anderson 5, Taylor 4, Kelly 3, Plume 2 and Steeves 2.

In the final, the Canterbury Celtics defeated the Harvey Lakers 51-42 as Heppell scored 17, Hatheway 11, Graham 8, Grant 8, Chase 4, Hickey 3 and Horsman 2. The win gave Canterbury its first provincial crown. The lakers opened the second half with a 9-0 run before Canterbury regained its poise and pulled away down the stretch. Celtics coach Bob English told the Fredericton Daily Gleaner that “if there is anybody left in Canterbury, I don’t know who it would be. The support was great. They are all here. … The kids felt confident going into the game tonight and that was the main thing … (Hatheway) did an excellent job of handling the basketball for us.” Cleghorn led the Lakers with 17. Kelly added 13, Bird 8 and VanWoudenberg 4.
