In the quarterfinals, held in Lethbridge, the University of New Brunswick Red Bloomers stomped Victoria First United 70-32 as Karen Lee scored 21, Joyce Douthwright 13, Sandy Humes 10, Russell 8, Jardine 7, Buzzell 5, Leslie Olmstead 4 and Smith 2, while Kirk and Campbell were scoreless. The Red Bloomers led 40-15 at the half. Annie McKeachie paced Victoria with 11. Trish Hadfield added 5, Judy Pearson 5, Pat Demidoff 4, Margo Morrison 2, Heather Wood 2, Lynnette Wren 2 and Pam Harknett 1, while Gerri Redding and Linda Grey were scoreless. First United (coached by Mike Gallo, trainer First Gunderson) also included Barb Halberg. First United coach Mike Gallo told the Victoria Daily Colonist that “they are a fine ballclub. They dropped 7 players down from senior A this season. They do everything so well. … My kids didn’t play that badly. It was a real tough game and we couldn’t match them under the boards. (New Brunswick’s Karen Lee) probably engineers as many points as she scored herself. She’s a one-lady wrecking crew.”

In the semis, the University of New Brunswick pounded York St. Leo’s 86-51 as Karen Lee scored 20, Joyce Douthwright 18, Leslie Olmstead 14, Buzzell 8, Russell 8, Jardine 6, Sandy Humes 2 and Smith 2, while Campbell and Kirk were scoreless. The Chinooks opened with a 25-2 run, held the Bobcats without a field goal for 13 minutes and took a 41-11 lead at the half. A 25-0 second half run put the outcome well out of the Bobcats reach.

In the consolation final, described by the Victoria Daily Colonist as the bronze medal match (though York St. Leo’s, as a semi-finalist, deserved equal status as a medal winner) Victoria First United whipped the University of Brandon Bobcats 62-39 as Pam Harknett scored 22, Annie McKeachie 18, Trish Hadfield 13, Linda Gray 5, Heather Wood 2, Gerri Redding 1 and Lynette Wren 1, while Judy Pearson, Margo Morrison and Barb Hallberg were scoreless. Sylvia Olynick paced Brandon with 13. Val Rollins added 9, Linda Petrie 6, Naomi Marumoto 5, Karen Anderson 4 and Alison Parkhurst 2, while Pat Thompson, Marie Fields and Nanoya Edgerton were scoreless. The Red Bloomers led 39-27 at the half.

        In the final, the University of New Brunswick edged the University of Lethbridge Chinooks 63-58 as Joyce Douthwright scored 22 before fouling out with four minutes to play. Tournament MVP Karen Lee added 21, Olmstead 10, Sandy Humes 6 and Russell 4, while Buzzell, Campbell, Jardine, Smith and Kirk were scoreless. New Brunswick led 39-27 at the half. Minnie Van Dieran and Leona Voth each scored 17 to pace Lethbridge. Leslie Blenner-Hassett added 12, Linda Dogterom 9, Joan Cannady 8, Helen Skidmore 5 and Dixie Dow 2, while Linda Voth and Lynette Maynard were scoreless.
