In the quarterfinals, the top-seeded Woodstock Wildcats dispatched the 8th-seeded Campbellton Sugarloaf Bruins 69-55 as Wilson scored 12, Peachey 11 and Culberson 10. Burnadette Garathy led the Bruins with 18.
The 5th-seeded Sackville Tantramar Titans clipped the 4th-seeded St. Stephen Spartans 68-56 as Becker scored 18 and Box 15. Nathalie Reid led the Spartans with 21.
The 2nd-seeded Lawrenceville-Bristol Carleton North Stars dusted the 7th-seeded St. George Fundy Mariners 87-30 as Delong scored 20, Clark 19 and Demerchant 17. Amy Mersereau led the Mariners with 13. The Mariners also included Tami Johnson.
In the last quarterfinal, the 3rd-seeded Fredericton ‘AA’ Black Kats defeated the 6th-seeded Hampton Consolidated Huskies x-x. The Huskies included Becky Morrison.
In the semis, the 2nd-seeded Lawrenceville-Bristol Carleton North Stars spanked the 3rd-seeded Fredericton ‘AA’ Black Kats 83-51 as Delong scored 25, Hawksley 10, Clark 10, Demerchant 10 and Peterson 10. Fraser led the Black Kats with 10. Fowler added 9 and Goguen 9.
In the other semi, the top-seeded Woodstock Wildcats clipped the 5th-seeded Sackville Tantramar Titans 58-52 as Harris scored 14 and McCue 11. The Wildcats led 38-21 at the half. Trenholm led the Titans 2ith 25.
In the final, the Lawrenceville-Bristol Carleton North Stars clubbed the top-seeded Woodstock Wildcats 69-41 as Clark scored 26 and Delong 13. The Strs led 7-0 early and 16-15 but then went on a 27-2 run. Clark told the Saint John Telegraph-Journal that scoring 26 was a “big surprise. I’ve been getting better toward the end of the year. But this is the peak. Definitely. … I can’t really explain it. Usually, it’s a real dog fight out there. This is the first game in two years I’ve seen that big a point spread.” Stars coach Darren Turnbull said “the last month and half, we’ve been practicing a little bit of zone and zone trap. I thought about going full court to begin with. Then I thought, no, he’s expecting that because the last game we played, that’s what we did.” Wilson led the Wildcats with 8.
