The AA (then the ‘B’ tourney) tournament was created as a means of limiting the number of teams taking part in the provincial A tourney. Teams in the B draw represent schools with less than 100 students.

In the first play-in tourney, seven teams take part and the champion is given a berth into the provincial A draw.

In the quarterfinals, held in Woodstock, Newcastle Harkins is given a bye.

The St. Stephen Spartans torched the Harvey Lakers 45-18 as Cockburn scored 22, Eastman 9, Madsen 5, McKenzie 4, McLeod 4 and Nixon 1. McGee led the Lakers with 8. Coburn added 5, Watson 3 and Nason 2, while Lister, Hanselpacker, McLean and Bartlett were scoreless.

The McAdam Warriors spanked the Hartland Huskies 56-22 as Noble scored 19, Ryder 13, Rosborough 6, Smith 6, Robinson 4, Hendry 3, Dewey 3 and Woodcock 2. Lavigne paced the Huskies with 14. Melvin added 6 and Smith 2, while Gillen, Sherwood, Shaw, Banks, Christian, Glass and Rourke were scoreless.

In the last quarterfinal, the host Woodstock Thunder clubbed the Centreville Cougars 53-31 as Hayden scored 21, Nickerson 14, Brewer 7, Franklin 4, Everett 2, Donaldson 2, Colwell 2 and Wakem 1. Bassett led the Cougars with 18. Watson added 10, Perry 2 and Lawrence 1, while Cain, Simonds, Estey, M Hayden, Clowater and Kilpatrick were scoreless.

In the semis, the St. Stephen Spartans dusted Newcastle Harkins 41-25 as Cockburn scored 22, Eastman 11, McLeod 6 and Nixon 2. Galley led Newcastle with 12. Stothart added 6, Shepherd 5, Cassidy 1 and McCallum 1.

In the other semi, the Woodstock Thunder dispatched the McAdam Warriors 36-30 as Hayden scored 16, Nickerson 9, Franklin 8 and Brewer 3. Noble led the Warriors with 13. Ryder added 11 and Smith 6.

In the final, the Woodstock Thunder whipped St. Stephen Spartans 48-26 after leading 10-21, 23-15 and 31-19 at the quarters. Hayden led the Thunder with 17. Franklin added 10, Nickerson 8, Brewer 4, Donaldson 4, Everett 2, Wakem 2 and Atherton 1. Eastman paced the Spartans with 10. Cockburn added 6, Nixon 6 and Edwards 4.

The all-tournament team featured: Eastman (St. Stephen); Ryder (McAdam); A Hayden (Woodstock); Smith (McAdam); and Franklin (Woodstock).
