In the quarterfinals, held in Quispamsis, the top-seeded Fredericton Black Kats stomped the 8th-seeded Quispamsis Kennebecasis Valley Crusaders 97-46 as Walker scored 36, Banks 18, Newell 17, Jarratt 10, Lakes 6, Hurley 4, Gillespie 2, Hayward 2 and Howlett 2. Kirk Miller scored 16 to lead the Crusaders (coach Peter Corby). David Williamson added 10, Jonathan Maddocks 8, Mark Hebert 6 and Greg Hebert 6, while Tim Kneeland was scoreless.

       The 7th-seeded Oromocto Blues stunned the 2nd-seeded Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans 65-64 as Kilbridge scored 29, Randall 17, King 8, Allison 4, Anthony 3, DesGroseilles 2 and Ripley 2. Dan Forbes led the Trojans with 23. Eddie McNally added 17, Lorne Steeves 9, Mike Campbell 6, Regan Steeves 4, Charlie Taylor 4 and Mark Arsenault 1, while Don Lemay and Harold Grant were scoreless.

       The 5th-seeded Saint John Milledgeville North Stars edged the 4th-seeded Saint John Greyhounds 71-68 as Simpson scored 26, Scott 23, Parker 17, Chase 10, Loatman 6 and Hector 2. David Angevine led the Greyhounds with 16. Al Swaggerman added 14, Peter McMaster 13, Jim Raymond 12, Richard Howser 6 and Harold Tesink 2, while Steve Coleman was scoreless.

       In the last quarterfinal, the 3rd-seeded Moncton Purple Knights whipped the 6th-seeded Miramichi James M. Hill Tommies 88-72 as Wood scored 21, Crowther 16, MacDonald 14, Leas 11, Hicks 8, Bourque 6, Connor 4, Smith 2 and Mcleod 2. Josh Corlette led the Tommies with 39. Paul Matherton added 8, Pat Sweeney 8, Jim Langille 6, Don Martin 5, Jim Blackmore 4 and Andy Sweeney 2.

       In the semis, the top-seeded Fredericton Black Kats blasted the 5th-seeded Saint John Milledgeville North Stars 110-59 as Walker scored 31, Hayward 22, Banks 16, Jarrett 9, Howatt 8, Ming 8, Lake 6, Hurley 6 and Morris 2. Chase led the Stars with 15. Simpson added 14, Parker 11, Scott 8, Smith 5, Hector 2, Cogswell 2 and Clark 2.

       In the other semi, the 3rd-seeded Moncton Purple Knights whipped the 7th-seeded Oromocto Blues 81-56 as G McDonald scored 40, Wood 12, Bourque 11, L McDonald 9, Crowther 5 and Smith 4. Randall led the Blues with 15. Kilbride added 15, King 10, Anthony 6, Ripley 4, Higgins 4 and Allison 2.

       In the bronze medal match, the 7th-seeded Oromocto Blues defeated the 5th-seeded Saint John Milledgeville North Stars 86-79 as Kilbride scored 33, Randall 24, King 11, DesGroseilliere 8 and Higgins 6. Treffery Simpson led the Stars with 24. Kendall Parker added 17, Ron Hector 16, Mark Chase 8, Malcolm Scott 8, Brian Loatman 4 and Paul Horgan 2. The Stars also included Steve Smith, Parker Cogswell. Steve Clark.

       In the final, the top-seeded Fredericton Black Kats defeated the 3rd-seeded Moncton Purple Knights 70-66 as Walker scored 24, Newell 22, Banks 16, Gillespie 4, Ming 2 and Howlett 2. The Black Kats led 60-48 after three quarters but the Purple Knights ripped a 12-0 run down the stretch before Newell drove for a layup to quell the rally. Black Hawks coach Rick Cotter told the Saint John Telegraph-Journal that “the guys were trying to get conservative. They were trying to hold onto the ball and when they did shoot, they missed three or four good percentage shots. … They switched to a man-to-man in the last two minutes after playing a zone the first 38 minutes. When Newell scored, I knew that was it.” Black Hawks assistant Eric Peters said “we just wouldn’t quit. And that about sums it up.” MacDonald topped Moncton with 19. Crowther added 13, Bourque 12, Smith 8, Wood 8, Leas 3 and Hicks 2.
