In the semis, the Fredericton Black Kats defeated the Miramichi James M. Hill Tommies 102-41.

        In the other semi, the Saint John Greyhounds whipped the Moncton Purple Knights by 30.

In the final, MVP Ron McCormick scored 27 as the Fredericton Black Kats defeated Saint John High Greyhounds 89-71. “The key to winning,” McCormick said, “is momentum. And today we had it.” He’d averaged 25 ppg through the tourney. The Kats also got 19 points from 6-3 point guard Jeff Gourlay and 22 from Roberto Florean. Coach Rick Cotter said defensive guard Greg Rideout “played the best game of his high school career.” Chris Fox led Saint John with 18 points.
