In the quarterfinals, the top-seeded Fredericton Black Kats annihilated the 8th-seeded Moncton Mathieu Martin Matadors 133-30 as Delong scored 29, McAllister 18, R Florean 15, Dobbelsten 12, Dunham 23, Elkoury 12, Gourley 10, Grimmer 9, L Florean 7, Howatt 6 and McNeil 3. Terry LeBlanc led the Matadors with 12. Doug Cormier added 9, Bernie LeBlanc 6, Paul Meunier 5, Norm Gauvin 3 and John Magee 2, while Mike Leger was scoreless.

       The 4th-seeded Saint John Simonds Seabees spanked the 5th-seeded Miramichi James M. Hill Tommies 73-41 as Beyea scored 31, Crowell 22, Crawford 9, Nobles 7, Murphy 2 and Carson 2. Paul Daley led the Tommies with 10. Gary Fraser added 8, Maurice King 6, Bill Kerr 6, Garry Sullivan 4, Peter Melliard 4, Gilles LeBlanc 3 and Ken McDonald 2, while Butler was scoreless.

       The 3rd-seeded Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans dispatched the 6th-seeded Miramichi Valley Pulamoo 66-54 as Yack scored 16, B Campbell 12, Smith 10, Blackmore 8, Fowler 8, A Campbell 8, Hudson 2 and Wilson 2. Ken Mitchell led the Pulamoo with 17. Paul Holder added 14, Andie MacDonnell 10, Larry Flanagan 6, Darrell Lingley 2, Jerry Dunnet 2 and Charles Matchett 1, while Holder was scoreless.

       In the last quarterfinal, the 2nd-seeded Moncton Purple Knights torched the 7th-seeded Oromocto Blues 89-32 as Sullivan scored 22, McConnell 18, D Shea 16, V Shea 12, Toogood 4, Simmons 2, Melanson 2 and Arsenault 1. Bruce Williams led the Blues with 14. Brine added 8, Robert Pushie 6, Robert MacDonald 4 and Tom Forsythe 2, while Casey and McNutt were scoreless.

       In the semis, the top-seeded Fredericton Black Kats mauled the 4th-seeded Saint John Simonds Seabees 123-57 as MacNeil scored 17, Dobbelsteyn 16, L Florean 14, Delong 12, R Florean 12, Grimmer 10, Dunham 10, Howatt 8, Elkhoury 6 and McAllister 6. Beyea led the Seabees with 20. Crawford added 13, Crowell 8, Nobles 5, Stewart 4, Fletcher 4 and Murphy 3.

       In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded Moncton Purple Knights clipped the 3rd-seeded Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans 62-50 as Sullivan scored 28, D Shea 15, V Shea 8, McConnell 6, Arsenault 3 and Simmons 2. Smith led the Trojans with 21. B Campbell added 8, A Campbell 8, Yack 7, Fowler 4 and Blackmore 2.

       In the bronze medal match, the 3rd-seeded Moncton Harrison Trimble Trojans dispatched the 4th-seeded Saint John Simonds Seabees 85-72 as Smith scored 26, B Campbell 20, Blackmore 12, Fowler 8, A Campbell 7, Yack 6, Nelson 2, Wilson 2 and Sewell 2. Phil Crowell led the Seabees with 23. Kevin Beyea added 18, Mike Wilson 16, Wayne Crawford 7, Peter Nobles 6 and Fletcher 2. The Seabees also included John Murphy, Brendan Carson, Stewart.

In the final, the top-seeded Fredericton Black Kats captured their fifth consecutive title by defeating the 2nd-seeded Moncton Purple Knights 72-49 as McNeil scored 21, L Florean 20, Gourley 10, Howatt 8, Grimmer 4, Delong 4, Dobblesteyn 2, F Florean 2 and Dunham 1. Black Kats coach Rick Cotter told the Fredericton Daily Gleaner that “it was one of my most satisfying wins. Since it was played out of Fredericton, it was definitely a pro-Moncton crowd and the kids played well. All of them got more floor time that at any other tourney and our offensive and defensive systems worked perfectly. The kids kept their poise and represented their school well. We jumped into an early lead and never looked back.” The Black Kats finished (21-7) on the season. D Shea led the Purple Knights with 20. McConnell added 12, Sullivan 8, Simmons 5, V Shea 2 and Arseneault 2.
