The top-seeded Perth-Andover Southern Victoria Vikings crushed the 8th-seeded Bathurst Phantoms 72-36 as Vinegar scored 17, Tucker 15 and Baker 214. Hinton led the Phantoms with 14. The Phantoms also included Jennings, Noble, Evans, Dobson, Ron White, Jamieson, Crosby, Eddy, Harvelle and Jim Baxter.
The St. Stephen Spartans dispatched the Saint John Greyhounds 40-32 as Johnson scored 11. Bob Chapman led the Greyhounds with 11. The Greyhounds (coach Bunky Good) also included Carrick, Richard Simms, J Anderosn, Forsythe, Dwight Chapman, Spragg, Brian White, B Anderson, M Anderson and B Chapman.
In the last quarterfinal, the 6th-seeded Moncton Purple Knights stunned the 3rd-seeded St. John Simonds Regional Seabees 66-30 as White scored 31 and Wheaton 10. The Seabees included Garnett, Landry, Bill Crawford, Cliff Skinner, Moore, LeBlanc, Doug Leyden, Riley, Howard, Fred Nice and Anderson.
In the semis, the St. Stephen Spartans torched the Perth-Andover Southern Victoria Vikings 65-42 as Johnson scored 18, Ensor 13, Stewart 12, Cotter 10, Russell 10 and White 2. Neilson led the Vikings with 11. Tucker added 8, Wylie 8, Baker 7, Vinegar 2 and Murchison 2.
In the other semi, the Fredericton Black Kats clipped the Moncton Purple Knights 55-42 as Hill scored 21, Dougherty 15, Stafford 8, Currie 5, Bonnell 3, McMullin 2 and Saunders 1. White led the Purple Knights with 14. Battis added 11, Berridge 6, Price 4, Campbell 3 and Rattray 2.
In the bronze medal match, the Moncton Purple Knights nipped the Perth-Andover Southern Victoria Vikings 50-47 as Wheaton scored 18, Battis 12, White 6, Campbell 5, Price 4, Rattray 3 and Stewart 2. John Baker led the Vikings with 9. Jim Wylie added 9, Dave Vinegar 8, Seward Neilson 7, Skinner 6, Murchison 4, Tucker 3 and Dewitt 1, while Garnett and Anderson were scoreless.
In the final, the St. Stephen Spartans defeated the Fredericton Black Kats 46-38. With the win, St. Stephen accomplished a boys and girls high school double. Cotter paced the Spartans with 12. Johnson added 11, Russell 10, Stewart 6, Ensor 4 and Lindsay 3. Don Dougherty led the Black Kats with 15. Saunders added 8, Hill 6, Stafford 5, White 3 and Bonnell 1.
