In the quarterfinals, held in St. Stephen, the host Spartans torched the Woodstock Thunder 63-45 as McClure scored 27, L Johnston 13, Ganong 9, Row 9, M Johnston 4 and McPherson 1. Raymond Richard led the Thunder with 11. Ken Green added 9, John McKinley 9, Keith Gorman 7, Ivan Purvis 4, George Sutherland 3 and Joe McGuire 2, while David Daye, Darrel Corneilson, Roger Purvis, Dave Lenahan, Gary Billings and Andrew Sutherland were scoreless.

       The Saint John Greyhounds mauled the Fredericton Black Kats 50-26 as Renfree scored 11, Cavanuagh 10, McKinney 9, Garland 6, Malcolm 6 and Taylor 4. Dale Allen led the Black Kats with 6. Dick Tinley added 6, Wayne Jones 5, Henry Davis 4, John Sampson (Sanson?) 2, John Thornton 1, Ronald Buck 1 and Ron Jardine 1, while David Hill, Eric Forbes, Peter Read, Tim Liston, Stuart King and Abraham Khoury were scoreless.

       The Moncton Purple Knights nipped the Perth-Andover Southern Victoria Vikings 43-41. The Vikings included Dale Grant, Don Hargrove, Jim Ross, David Tucker, Don Kelly, Seward Nielson, Clifford Kilcup, John Tucker, John Baker and Willie. They were also reported to include Terry Smith, John Anderson, James Wylie, David Skinner, David Vinegar, Gerald Murchison, David Tucker, Gilbert Rossignol, Richard Ross, Richard Garnett and Wayne Sabine.

       In the last quarterfinal, the St. John St. Malachy’s Memorial Saints dusted Newcastle Harkins 6-447. Newcastle included Earl Smith, Arnold Russell, Graham Wade, Arthur Gremley, Ronald Douguay, Robert Mckay, John Creamer, Charles Horsely, les Rouke, Richard Irland and Lloyd Sutherland.

       In the semis, the Saint John St. Malachy’s Memorial Saints clocked the Moncton Purple Knights 67-40.

       In the other semi, the St. Stephen Spartans edged the Saint John Greyhounds 50-48.

       In the bronze medal match, the Saint John Greyhounds nipped the Moncton Purple Knights 54-53 as McKinney hit two free throws to win it and Garland ragged the ball until the final buzzer. McKinney paced the Greyhounds with 19. John Fudge led the Purple Knights with 15. Terrence Thompson added 10. The Purple Knights also included Donald Sears, David Craig, Marshall Beck, Donald Norton, Gregory Read, Gary Humes, Reginald Sharpe, George Rideout, Russell Graham, Ivan Richardson, William Hickey, David Gibson, Michael Murphy, Roger Wheaton, Peter Smith and Wayne Patterson.

In the final, the Saint John St. Malachy’s Saints defeated the St. Stephen Spartans 71-59 as Barry scored 28, Wallace 12, Dunn 11, LeClair 8, T Murphy 8 and B Murphy 4. McClure led the Spartans with 20. L Johnston added 11, M Johnson 10, Row 9 and Ganong 8.
