Teri-Lee Oleniuk led the Blues with 14. Jacalyn Poncelet added 8, Brancy Kleiboen 6, Laetisha Serviss 4 and Carri Poncelet 2.
In the other semi, the Lashburn Lobos dumped the Leask Rams 60-50 as Gayetan Klinger scored 24, Holly Polinsky 14, Tanya Turvey 8, Sherri Cunningham 7, Joanna Smysnuik 2, Bobbie Phipps 2 and Erin Finlin 2. Sandra Anderson led the Rams with 18. Christine McHanson added 11, Elizabeth Connor 9, Shelley Tawpisin 5, Raechelle Kreese 4 and Jennifer Mooshunter 3.
In the bronze medal match, the Leask Rams clubbed the Kinistino R.J. Humphrey Blues 45-32 as Sandra Anderson scored 26, Wendy Hamilton 8, Jennifer Moosehunter 4, Christine McHanson 3, Raechelle Kreese and Shelley Taspisin 2. Jacalyn Poncelet led the Blues with 14. Laetisha Serviss added 12, Terri-Lee Oleniuk 4 and Angie Stabner 2. The Blues also included Carri Poncelot.
In the final, the Wolseley Warriors defeated the Lashburn Lobos 58-48 as Amy Frederickson scored 30, Cherri Armstrong 10, Sarah Magel 8, Aimee Beliveau 6 and Angie Magel 4. Gayetan Klinger led the Lobos with 12. Holly Polinsky added 12, Joanna Smysniuk 10, Tanya Turvey 6, Sherri Cunningham 4, Bobbie Phipps 3 and Leah Abrosimoff 1. Warriors coach Gary Fredrickson told the Regina Leader-Post that “this is what I’ve dreamed about all my life. I can remember telling Len Williams, the head coach of the Weyburn senior girls and a good friend of mine, 15 years ago that my dream was to win provincials with kids I taught.” The president of Basketball Saskatchewan added that “in building a program … the trick is finding kids who’ll commit. We practiced four times a wekk and this was our 42nd game this season. The kids have pretty much given up every weekend. They had one weekend off and that was for exams.” The Warriors broke ope a 34-34 game with a 16-5 run.
