Shawna Sapergia added 14. Eagles coach Len Williams told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix that “I thought we showed really good composure out there tonight. I was concerned about that with such a young team.” The Eagles led 12-5 early and 27-22 at the half. The Cyclones rallied to take a 32-31 lead but Shawna Rushing and Shelley Trudgeon notched buckets as Weyburn reasserted control. Two free throws by Trudgeon with three minutes to play gave Weyburn a 57-47 lead that seemed to deflate the Central. Cyclones coach Bryan Adams said it was “a good basketball game that could have gone either way. We did a few ill-advised things in the last three minutes and it cost us the game.”
