In the other semi, the North Battleford Comprehensive Vikings stomped the Moose Jaw Central Cyclones 91-55 as Charmaine Anderson scored 30. Rhonda Kwan led the Cyclones with 16.
In the bronze medal match, the Prince Albert Carlton Crusaders clipped the Moose Jaw Central Cyclones 62-55 as Tammy Olmstead scored 18 and Kerri Anderson 14. Rhonda Kwan led the Cyclones with 29. Kim Neithercut added 15.
In the final, the Swift Current Ardens defeated the North Battleford Vikings 58-37 as Janet Redekopp scored 16, Rea Peters 15 and Sandra Murchie 14. Carman Kjarsgaard led the Vikings with 11. Laura Sternig added 8. The Ardens led 28-26 at the half but ripped off a 12-0 run to take a 41-28 lead and romped. Ardens coach Lori Granger told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix that “we didn’t have to change anything (at the half). … We knew things were not going our way in the first half. … But we knew they were getting tired.” Vikings coach Doug Armet said “we needed to hit for two shots (after the break) and we didn’t. They got momentum and they got the points and that was the ball game. … I think we’re equally as good. … Today was not our day.”
