In the quarterfinals, held in Picture Butte, the High Prairie Chargers defeated the Sylvan Lake Lakers 43-30 as Patti Johnson scored 17. Shauna Sylvester led the Lakers with 10. Laurel Matthews added 7.

        The Carstairs Trojans dispatched the Fort Saskatchewan Nor’Westers 46-35 as Celeste Bazinet scored 24. The Nor’Westers led 14-9 after one quarter. The Trojans led 24-18 at the half. The Nor’Westers led 33-32 after three quarters. Karen Ingram-Johnson and Joanne Siebert each scored 12 to pace the Nor’Westers, who also included Heather McLellan.

The Vermilion Marauders clipped the Devon Wildcats 37-28 as Darlene Haverslew scored 16. The Marauders led 18-9 at the half. Karen Lasuik paced the Wildcats with 8.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Hanna J.C. Charyk Hawks edged the Milk River Novas 40-39. With the Novas trailing by 40-38 with two seconds to play, guard Pam McLeod saw the second of two free throws rim out as the Hawks prevailed. The Hawks had led 8-3, 18-9 and 26-21 at the quarters. Sherry Seaman paced the Hawks with 12. McLeod led the Novas with 12. “The foul shot was there for a moment, but it went out the other side rather than down the hole,” said Milk River coach Cameron Burr. “We got off to a real slow start and therefore it was real hard to get the momentum to swing towards us.” The Novas rallied in the second half with a full-court press. “We’ve gone with the press from day one, both man-to-man and zone. We came back with the press tonight, but we just weren’t converting the turnovers,” said Burr. The Novas also included Maxine Wensman, Corrine Wensman, Maxine Wensman, Maria Thielen, Valerie Buzuc?, Agnes Johnston, Rhonda Wensman.

        In the semis, the Carstairs Trojans defeated the Vermilion Marauders 39-22 as Celeste Bazinet scored 19. Jodi Simmonds led the Marauders with 8.

        In the other semi, the Hanna J.C. Charyk Hawks defeated the High Prairie Chargers 34-29 as Sherry Seaman scored 14. Patti Johnson led the Chargers with 10.

        In the bronze medal match, the High Prairie Chargers nipped the Vermilion Marauders 39-38 despite trailing 21-16 at the half. Lorna Lizec led the Chargers with 18. Jodi Simmonds paced the Marauders with 14.

In the final, the Carstairs Trojans defeated the Hanna J.C. Charyk Hawks 33-26. The Trojans led 20-19 at the half.
