The Vermilion Marauders dispatched the Stettler Cubs 27-23 in overtime as Joan Marfleet dominated the paint. The score was knotted at 23 after regulation. Susan Webb paced the Marauders with 8. Janet LaRose led the Cubs with 12. Beth Malcolm added 9 (alternately reported as 8). The Cubs (coached by Al Lagore) also included Faye Sayce.
The Westlock Thunderettes dumped the Grande Prairie Pandairs 31-24 as Wendy McMillan scored 7. Betty Tissington led the Pandairs with 15. The Pandairs (coached by Mrs Hans Intscher) also included Fay Pollock, Alene Bohnet.
In the last quarterfinal, the Coaldale Kate Andrews Larks whipped the Vulcan Royalettes 56-42 as Minnie Van Dieren scored 23. Betty Lahd led the Royalettes with 14. The Larks led 45-26 at the half.
In the semis, the Westlock Thunderettes defeated the Brooks Trents 38-35.
In the other semi, the Coaldale Kate Andrews Larks defeated the Vermilion Marauders 54-21 as Minnie Van Dieren scored 20 and Dixie Dow 13. Liza Brimacombe paced the Marauders with 10.
