All the kids played extremely well in all the series. We didn’t shoot too well against Alberta in our final game but we were tired. Actually, the score wasn’t indicative of the game. We were in control most of the contest. We missed a couple of bonus throws in the final minute and they scored after that. Three of my boys – Herb Wiebe, who averaged 20 per game, Randy Kusano and Cam McGinnis, were all-stars. Ron Waugh should have been but I guess they look at the scoresheets first. Ron, while he scored his share of points, did a great job on the boards for us. I may be prejudiced but I think we dominated the tournament. The overall calibre wasn’t as good as last year but it was a well-run tournament. Remember, we had only four players back from last year’s championship team. It was a fantastic effort from all the guys. Even the boys who came off the bench, like Jim Matthews, were great. No mistakes.”
