The Cardston St. Mary’s Blood Reserve Warriors crushed the Taber Globetrotters 69-26 as Greg Eagle Plume scored 26 and Lawrence Pantherbone 17. Pinky MacDonald led the Globetrotters with 10.
In round three, the Taber Globetrotters eliminated Coalhurst x-x.
The Raymond Mustangs eliminated the Grannum Grizzlies x-x.
In round four, the Taber Globetrotters eliminated the Raymond ‘B’ Mustangs 43-39 as Pinky MacDonald scored 17, Gary MacDonald 10 and Stevens 9. Roy Meek led the Mustangs with 10.
In the semis, the Cardston St. Mary’s Blood Reserve Warriors eliminated the Taber Globetrotters x-x ad Lawrence Pantherbone scored 32 and Greg Eagle Plume 17. Kent Stevens led the Globetrotters with 18.
In the Southern final, the Cardston St. Mary’s Blood Reserve Warriors dispatched the Milk River Comets 53-47 as Lawrence Pantherbone scored 23 and Greg Eagle Plume 21. Gordon Balog led the Comets with 18. Wayne Webb added 10.
In the opening round of a six-team (not a double-knockout but some weird hybrid) provincial tournament, held in Lethbridge, the Cardston St. Mary’s Blood Reserve Warriors clocked the Camrose St. Patrick Catholic x 63-22 as Lawrence Panther Bone scored 19 and Greg Eagle Plume 15. Dave Herman paced the Trojans with 9.
The Red Deer Composite Raiders dusted the Hanna J.C. Charyk Hawks 61-36 after leading 32-10 at the half. Lanny Bolseki led the Raiders with 21. Paige Comis added 10 and Bill Hunt 10. Ian Laing led the Hawks with 17. John Hansen added 11. The Hawks also included Ron Howery.
In the semis, the Cardston St. Mary’s Blood Reserve Warriors defeated the Edmonton St. Anthony’s x 68-57 as Greg Eagle Plume scored 30. Lawrence Panther Bone added 14 and Norbert Fox 11. The win advanced the Warriors to the final. Cam Allard paced St. Anthony’s with 21. Doug Roberts added 18.
In the other semi, the Grande Prairie Totems edged the Red Deer Composite Raiders 44-42. The Raiders led 27-21 at the half. Tom Bowen paced the Totems with 13. Larry Kyle added 12. Lanny Bolseki led the Raiders with 19. Paige Comis added 10.
In the consolation semis, the Red Deer Composite Raiders eliminated the Camrose St. Patrick Catholic x x-x as Larry Bolseki scored 27.
In the other consolation semi, the Edmonton St. Anthony’s x thrashed the Hanna J.C. Charyk Hawks x-x. The Hawks included Ian Laing, Ron Howery, Reg Baldwin.
In the consolation final the Edmonton St. Anthony’s x dispatched the Red Deer Composite Raiders 53-36 after leading 19-14 at the half. Andy Hegig paced St. Anthony’s with 15. Dave Roberts added 12 and Andy Blackwater 11. St. Anthony’s also included Cam Allard, Doug Roberts. Larry Bolseki led the Raiders (coached by Arnold Engers) with 22.
In the final, the Cardston St. Mary’s Blood Reserve Warriors defeated Grande Prairie Totems 60-30 as Lawrence Panther Bone scored 26. The Warriors led 17-12 at the half and exploded with a 24-3 run in the third quarter. Gregory Eagle Plume added 13 and Leroy Heavyrunner 11. Tom Bowen paced the Totems with 11. Larry Kyle added 10.
