Bowness coach Dan Daum told the Lethbridge Herald that team defence proved the difference. “The kids like to work and they’re pretty proud of their defence. The defence kept us in the game until the guys got settled down a little.” Bowness led 39-35 at the half and quickly took command in the second frame. “We had a little heart-to-heart at halftime and we came out and rebounded a lot better. Once we got that down, we were off,” said Daum. Bruce Irving led the Bowness with 23. Paul Siakaluk added 21. Ed Zabok and Dean Schwartz each scored 15 to pace Camrose. “It’s a different group of kids and it’s always a new challenge,” said Daum. “And every year we come here the competition gets better and better and better.”
