In the final, the Calgary John Diefenbaker Chiefs edged the Medicine Hat McCoy Colts 58-53 as Chuck Eudaily and Brian Miettenen each scored 14, while Laur Jacques nabbed 12 boards. Chief coach Del Anderson told the Calgary Herald that “it was a total team effort. … Our depth has been our strength all year. … We were leading by five points and they had the ball when George Liaridis made a key steal and we scored. Had they scored, our lead would have only been three points and who knows what might have happened. Liaridis was a defensive star for us all weekend though.”
