The Southern League featured four teams in home-and-home play: Raymond, Lethbridge Collegiate, Stirling (Cardston?) and Magrath. There were no postseason playoffs and no provincial challengers from central or northern Alberta. Magrath included Wayne Matkin, Glen Card, Lee Meldrum, Everette Evans, Gerald Harker, Fred Karren, Floyd Toomer, Rulon Gibb, Rulon Bingham, Ahrens and John Wolsey.
