In the Southern League final, the Cardston Cougars defeated the Raymond Comets 16-14. Jesse Olsen paced the Cougars with 7. Lowell Parrish added 5, Harold Lee 2 and Evan Wynder 2, while Ford Parrish, Mark Low and Leland Carr were scoreless. Reed Kirkham paced the Comets (coached by Allen Weaver) with 5. Joe Kirkham added 4, Athol Cooper 2, Bill Blackmore 2 and Brownie Rolfson 1, while W Christensen was scoreless. The teams had split their regular season contests.
In the provincial semis, the Cardston Cougars defeated Medicine Hat Alexandra 30-13; 25-12 (Total: 55-25). Medicine Hat included Chris Riley, Hugh Russell.
In the provincial finals, the Cardston Cougars captured the crown by default as northern champ Edmonton McDougall refused to travel south and refused to provide the Cougars with a financial guarantee to cover costs if they travelled north. The Alberta Amateur Basketball Association declared the Cougars provincial champs.
