        In the bronze medal match, the Saskatchewan Selects clipped the Halifax Red Fox Senior Ladies 65-50 as sue Burns scored 14. Marg Mulder led Halifax with 18.      

        In the final, Manitoba edged British Columbia 70-68. The largest lead for either team was five points. Janet Lumsden scored 25, including four three pointers. Ester Johnson added 15. For B.C., Debbie Huband scored 23, including three three-pointers, and Espeseth 14 “It was a terrific final,” Manitoba coach Tom Kendall told the Winnipeg Free Press. Manitoba was ahead 36-33 at the half. “It was a two-point game all the way, very exciting, said Kendall, adding that he believed it was the first title ever won by a Manitoba team in any division. “We’ve never won a Canadian university championship or a junior title, or, as far as I know, a title in any division. I think this is a first for Manitoba.”
