The national tourney, held in Kelowna, was a double knockout event, with three participants. 

        In the opening round win against Okanagan, the Saskatoon Adilman Aces defeated the Okanagan Meikle Teddy Bears 44-43 after leading 11-10 at the quarter, 26-22 at the half and 38-36 at the three-quarter mark. Judy Jenkin paced the Aces with 14. Diane Hanysh added 11, Serbeowski 8, Gloria Wesley 8, Ruth Budney 2 and Herrick 1, while Dobie, Ackerman and Little were scoreless. Anita Stewart led the Teddy Bears with 10. Marg Fielder added 10, Casilio 8, Tataryn 6, Pinske 3, Fowles 2, McGuire 2 and Inglis 1, while Gordon and Dolfo were scoreless.

        In the second contest, the Saskatoon Adilman Aces thumped Edmonton Jasper Place Auto Parts 43-29 after leading 11-5 at the quarter and 25-15 at the half. Judy Jenkins, Fay Herrick and Ruth Budney each pitched in 8. Dianne Hanysh added 6, Gloria Wesley 4, Anita Serblowski 4, Margot Little 3 and Pat Dobie 2, while Marlene Ackerman was scoreless. Betty Kendall led Edmonton with 10. Phyllis Schmidt added 7, Lorraine Tory 7, Claudette Manage 4 and Betty Lou Archibald 1, while Ellory Yurchak, Carole Colwill, Judy Urch and Dorothy Havrelock were scoreless.

        In the elimination round between opening game losers, Okanagan defeated Edmonton 55-37 as Anita Stewart scored 16, Marg Fielder 13, Gloria Gordon 6, Carol Casilio 4, Doreen McGuire 4, Doreen Pinske 4, Norma Dulfo 4, Heather Inglis 2, Shirley Tatyran 2. Phyllis Schmidt led Edmonton with 12. Betty Lou Archibald added 6, Judy Urch 5, Lorraine Tory 3, Betty Kendall 3 and Claudette Menage 3, while Ellory Yurchak and Dorothy Havrelock were scoreless.

        In the final, Saskatoon led 7-6 after quarter and 28-20 at the half in the final before prevailing 48-42. Judy Jenkin scored 15 and Diane Hanysh 12. Marg Fielder led the Teddies with 14. Saskatoon coach Bob Stayner told Canadian Press that “the girls really worked for that victory. We had five injuries but everyone gave their best.”
