In the final, the Carbonear Collegiate Sentinels dusted the Stephenville Spartans 54-36 as Mallory Gillespie scored 16 and Michaela Case 10. The win avenged a loss in round-robin play. Hannah Stokes and Katelyn Baker each scored 9 to pace the Spartans. Michaela Case was chosen player of the game for the Sentinels. “We didn’t think we were going to win it at all. … Everyone on the floor was just shaking in a ball,” Morgan Clarke told the Carbonear Compass. “At least not this soon,” added Jasmine Slade. “Especially where we are so young.” Carbonear trailed 16-7 after one quarter but battled back to outscore Stephenville 47-20 the rest of the way. “We were a little nervous,” said Slade.
