In pool B round-robin play, Baie Verte St. Pius X finished (2-0) after defeating Deer Lake Xavier 74-70 and Burin Pearce Regional 89-47.
In the semis, the Trepassey Stella Maris Mystics defeated Deer Lake Xavier 102-85.
In the other semi, Baie Verte St. Pius X defeated the Stephenville Spartans 70-60.
In the final, the Trepassey Stella Maris Mystics survived a scare but prevailed 75-74 over Baie Verte St. Pius 10th 75-74 as Clarence Sutton hit two free throws in the final seconds of play. Stella Maris led 36-33 at the half. Sutton led all scorers with 27 points. Ken Baker added 19 for Stella Maris and Clyde O’Neil 16. St. Pius was paced by Jack Shelley’s 22 points. Dominic Seymour added 21 and Tony McCarthy 12.
