In the semis, top-seeded Charlottetown Colonel Gray-1 Colonels whipped the 4th-seeded Bluefield-1 Bobcats 75-30 after leading 23-6 after one quarter and 51-11 at the half. In the other semi, 2nd-seeded Summerside Three Oaks-1 Axewomen clubbed the 3rd-seeded Charlottetown Rural-1 Raiders 73-42 after leading 11-9, 29-20 and 54-26 at the quarters. The Axewomen dominated the boards and forced a host of turnovers off their defensive pressure. Jessica Gillis paced Three Oaks with 19 points and 9 steals. Ashley Simmons scored 18 and Charlotte Thompson 11, along with 5 boards, 3 steals and 3 blocks. Sarah Steele led the Raiders with 17, including a trio from beyond the arc. Kassie Little added 12.

In the final, the top-seeded Charlottetown Colonel Gray-1 Colonels pounded the 2nd-seeded Summerside Three Oaks-1 Axewomen 77-50 after leading 47-26 at the half. Sarah Peters drained a trey to give the Colonels a 15-14 lead and they never looked back. “It was big,” Kendra Craswell said of Peters’ shot. “We needed that momentum.” Colonels coach Chris Annett said the trey was huge. “Sarah has been one of, if not, our best player through the playoffs.” Craswell said the Colonels were determined to avenge a loss in the 2013 final. “We lost to them last year and it was tough, so we wanted to beat them this year.” The Colonels led 24-19, 47-26 and 67-40 at the quarters. Axewomen coach James Voye said the tide turned when Jessica Gillis picked up her third foul late in the first quarter. “That really hurt us. She’s our best ball handler, a senior, Grade 12 captain and I think she left it on the floor tonight.” Guard Jenna Mae Ellsworth said “we worked hard all season and it really paid off.” Voye said “the girls worked really hard all game. We have 11 girls on our team that there’s just no quit and I think they showed that tonight. Gray is an excellent team and we did as good as we could to stick with them as long as we did.” Jenna Mae Ellsworth paced the Colonels with 19. Victoria Barbour added 15 and Sarah Peters 14.
