It’s nice to have a good win here today.” Gallant told the Summerside Journal-Pioneer that “it was a great way to end the year. We worked hard and the kids really deserved it this year . . . After being upset last year in the final, the goal was to get back here and win this time.” The key was an “up-tempo pace,” he added. “We pushed the ball and we just had better athletes who moved it down the floor and Souris had a tough time keeping up in the end,” said Gallant. “It was our athleticism that eventually won it for us.” The Axemen broke to a 12-4 lead and extended the margin to 25-13 at the half. Souris rallied within 65-48 at the end of three quarters. “We stumbled a little bit for a few minutes in the third quarter and Souris came back and put us back on our heels for a minute,” said Gallant. “We called a quick timeout and got the boys to gather together and we pushed it right back at them.”
