       In the Saskatchewan final, the Saskatoon Keg Spirits nipped the Regina Shamrock Sports 71-69 as Mark Redekop scored 18, John Thoutenhoofdt 13, Paul Jacoby 11 and Joel Jantzen 10. Gary Beckie led Regina with 21. Doug Kelsey added 19 and Chris Biegler 15.

       In the semis, Martin Riley and Greg Daniels each scored 18 to lead Winnipeg Nicolett Inn past Halifax Budget Rent-a-Car 80-75. Darryl Rumsey added 14. Lee Thomas led Halifax with 20. Ron MacFarland added 19 and Bob Fagan 12.

In the other semi, the B.C. Fraser Valley Bullets edged Toronto Estonia 81-78 in overtime. Bill Robinson paced the Bullets with 23. Kirk Randa added 20 and Alex Devlin 16. George Rautins paced Estonia with 17. Romel Raffin added 14 and Tom Kieswetter 10. The score was knotted at 66 after regulation.

       In the fifth-place match, Alberta defeated Newfoundland 87-75 as Tom Bishop scored 32, Gregg Hess 21 and Doug Baker 16. Glen Taylor led Newfoundland with 26. Ron Tobin added 21 and Austin Brophy 12.

       In the bronze medal match, Nova Scotia defeated Ontario x-x.

       In the final, Winnipeg Nicolett Inn defeated the Fraser Valley Bullets 67-63 as Darryl Rumsey scored 15, Greg Daniels 14, Martin Riley 14 and Rick Watts 13. Ken MacKenzie paced the Bullets with 25. Gary Smith and Alec Devlin each added 10. Winnipeg coach Jim Bulloch told Canadian Press that “nobody expected us to win, but we were outscored at only one position – center – and we were tough defensively. Manitoba’s team defence proved the difference as they neutralized the Fraer Valley Bullets 6-11, 6-10, 6-9 front line. The game was tied at 44 after five minutes in the second half when Manitoba took command. Darryl Rumsey paced Manitoba with 15 points. Greg Daniels and Martin Riley each added 14 and Rick Watts 13. Ken MacKenzie led Fraser Valley with 25. Gary Smith and Alex Devlin each added 10. The victorious Winnipeg Nicolett Inn team was essentially the same squad that three years earlier had captured the CIAU title.

       The all-tourney team featured: MVP Martin Riley (Nicolett Inn); Kirk Randa (Fraser Valley); Tom Bishop (Alberta); Alex Devlin (Fraser Valley); and Bob Dennifield (Halifax Budget Rent-a-Car). Randa was also selected the defensive player of the tournament.
