The Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation has changed the playoff format. Previously, the top two teams at each of the four regionals qualified for the provincials. As of 1999, only the four regional winners qualified. The four-runners-up advanced to two qualifying tournaments.

        In the quarterfinals, held in Truro, the top-seeded Halifax West Warriors defeated the 8th-seeded Glace Bay Panthers.

        The Greenwich Horton Griffins dumped the Halifax St. Patrick’s Fighting Irish x-x. The Fighting Irish (coached by Wade Smith, assisted by Daniel Williams) included Gabe Goree, Cornell Mitchell, Matthew Tully, Tony Finch, Roy Gangoo, Gary Harris, Dave Fultz, Tyrone Oliver, Jermaine Symonds, Dwayne Simms, Aaron Flint, Brandon Dorrington, Cyril States, Graham Estabrooks, Julian Choveiti and Michael Collcan.

        The Halifax Queen Elizabeth Lions defeated the Dartmouth Spartans x-x. The Spartans included Antoine Berry, Nathan Kenney, Matt Brooks.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Bridgewater Park View Education Centre Panthers defeated the Truro Cobequid Educational Centre Cougars x-x. The Cougars (coached by Brent Baker, assisted by Marc Roberts) included Alex Hernandez, Chris Johnson, Andrew Barnhill, Vickas Khanna, Will Vreugdenhil, Edwin Reynolds, Gavin Davidson, Adam Russell, Daniel McDonald, Alex Mcleod, Parker Regan, Michael Baxter, Andy Maclean and Patrick Havard.

        In the bronze medal match, the Greenwich Horton Griffins defeated the Halifax West Warriors 73-62 as Dan MacLeod scored 30. The Warriors also included Dana Brinton.

In the final, the Bridgewater Park View Education Centre Panthers defeated the Halifax Queen Elizabeth Lions 68-62 as Jeff Saxby scored 19, Stuart Josselyn 18 and Jamie Mason 14. Jamie McNeil paced the Lions with 14.
